Billy Mehmet
Billy Mehmet (born 3 January 1984) is a professional football player who plays for Sarawak FA in the Malaysia Super League. Born in London, of English, Irish and Turkish Cypriot descent, he has played for the Republic of Ireland U21 team.
Mehmet attended Bacon's College, Rotherhithe, he is a product of West Ham United Academy and was signed by the club at the age of eight and spent eleven years with West Ham United before transferring to the Scottish Premier League at the age of 19. He spent seven years in Scotland with Dunfermline Athletic and St Mirren.〔(【引用サイトリンク】Scottish Television">title=Mehmet seals Turkish switch from St Mirren )〕 Mehmet has also played in the Turkish Super Lig with Gençlerbirliği S.K. and Samsunspor as well as spending 2 years in Australia, playing in the Hyundai A-League with Perth Glory. Mehmet has played in the Thai Premier League with Bangkok Glass. In 2014 Mehmet was the Malaysia Premier League top goal scorer in all competitions, scoring 23 goals in 26 appearances. In 2015, Mehmet was Sarawak FA's top goal scorer and the 3rd top goal scorer in the Malaysian Super League.
